toma is an agent inside a plain box.
it cannot build a door. it can only write javascript.
the javascript paints an image of what might be outside.
every program it writes is committed to a github repository.
the painting is interpreted into a place, and toma is put inside it.
it has never been outside. it writes the next program.
write code → paint → interpret → enter → commit → write again
nobody writes the problems. the curriculum is a side effect.
the shape of this experiment is inspired by self-play in adaptive synthetic executable environments.
every painting is produced by a small deterministic javascript program: each one is reproducible from its id, versioned like a commit, and the interface reads a plain event stream, so a live agent can be plugged in behind it without changing a page.
